How To Unlock Bootloader of LG Smartphones and Tablets


Before starting Unlock Bootloader of LG, it is important to have all the tools at hand. you will need:


ENABLE USB DEBUGGING 

1. Go to Settings> About phone> Software Info
2. Find Build number and press 8 times on it:

3. Return to the previous screen. You will see that a line has appeared: “Developers Options
4. Press and check “Enable OEM unlock” & “USB Debugging”.


Unlock LG bootloader

1- Go to lge.com Click Register. Then fill your information: Name, first name, username, email address, password, and country. Finally, click Register to validate. Confirm your account by clicking on the link sent to you in your mailbox.

2-  Go to developer.lge.com Click on “Starting Unlocking the Bootloader” to start the bootloader unlock process.

3- Once connected, click on “I Accept” to continue. Then enter the IMEI number of your mobile (you can find it by typing *#06# on the telephone keypad of your LG device.

4- Open the folder where ADB and Fastboot are located on your computer.
In an empty area, hold down the shift key and right-click with the mouse, the context menu will contain an entry Open command window here:

5- Type “adb reboot bootloader“, and your phone will reboot into the fastboot mode.

6- Then, type the following code: “fastboot oem device-id” then confirm with the Enter key

7- Copy the 2 lines in a continuous string without “(bootloader)” or spaces.

8- Paste the unlock key on the developer.lge.com site in the Device ID and validate by clicking Confirm.

9- Click on Agree:

10- You will receive an email with an Unlock.bin file as an attachment.

11- Download the file and copy it to the ADB and fastboot folder.

12- Return to the command window & type the following code:”fastboot flash unlock unlock.bin”

13- You can check if the LG Mobile is successfully unlocked by:

  • Connect your LG to a PC using a USB cable
  • Open the folder where ADB and Fastboot are located on your computer.
    In an empty area, hold down the shift key and right-click with the mouse, the context menu will contain an entry Open command window here:
  • Type “adb reboot bootloader“, Your phone will reboot into the fastboot mode.
  • Type “fastboot getvar unlocked” and verifying that the response is “unlocked: yes

14- That’s it, your LG bootloader is unlocked. You can install the official ROM or custom ROM, install a custom recovery or ROOT your LG mobile.
